Howdy. I'm writing this evening from my motel room. That's right. I'm in a motel in Niles, IL - Why? Well, I'm up here for a conference at North Park University & I guess this was the closest place that the Center for Civic Education could put us up. There are 4 of us attending the conference who are holed up here - thankfully we don't have to share rooms or anything like that. Well, I've just got to say that if you are a fan of clean motel rooms DON'T stay @ the Days Inn here. IT IS UCKY! When I first arrived I was grossed out & so far I've not felt like I can truly relax here. On top of the mildew & stuff that is growing in the shower & the carpet that has seen much better days, there are people who come & go (quite loudly) at all hours of the night. I've NOT slept well since Saturday night (when I was at home). I'm getting really tired & looking sooooo forward to spending a few nights @ my mom & dad's house! (of course it'd be even better if LD were going to be there too, but he's in MN, so I guess I'll just settle for having clean sheets & a cleaner bathroom!)
I know, beggars should NOT be choosy, but honestly I think I'd rather have dealt with the INSANE traffic on I-94 each day for this conference.

Yuck. I stayed at a place like that in Milwaukee once. It was like $35 a night and even worse I had to share it with a co-worker. I'm feelin' your pain.

ReplyDeleteWhen I got back to my folks I found a bathroom that wasn't much better than the Days Inn though. Guess my dad at least misses me cleaning HIS bathroom. As a thanks for letting me stay a few days I scrubbed it for him.
I don't know what is with me & these un-clean bathrooms. Are my standards just too high? DON'T comment here LD!
