33 Weeks...7 more (if he's on time)

From Parents Connect 3D Pregnancy: Your Baby @ 33 weeks
The big news this week is lung development—baby's respiratory system is almost completely mature. That means if your baby was born this week, odds are he'd be a healthy bouncing baby with a just a little help from his friends (aka, the NICU).
Some of the specifics are: Your baby can now detect light and tell the difference between night and day (of course that ability will miraculously disappear once he's born and up all night screaming). His pupils will constrict and dilate in response to light. If you shine a flashlight on your belly, your baby may shy away from the light as if to say, "Cut it out, Ma. You're soooo annoying."

From Babycenter.com: How your life's changing
As your baby fills out even more of your belly, lots of things might start to change: Whereas before you were sashaying, you may find yourself waddling.
Finding an easy position to sit in — let alone sleep — is becoming more of a challenge. And bumping into chairs and counters is par for the course.
You may be feeling some achiness and even numbness in your fingers, wrists, and hands. Like many other tissues in your body, those in your wrist can retain fluid, which can increase pressure in the carpal tunnel, a bony canal in your wrist. Nerves that run through this "tunnel" may end up pinched, creating numbness; tingling, shooting or burning pain; or a dull ache. Try wearing a splint to stabilize your wrist or propping your arm up with a pillow when you sleep. If your work requires repetitive hand movements (at a keyboard or on an assembly line, for instance), remember to stretch your hands when you take breaks — which should be frequently.

OK - so I'm there. Monday when I went to the Dr. the Nurse practitioner that I saw told me that the baby was pretty high (DUH..that must be why I've got feet or a butt pushing on my ribs all the time!) When she listened for the heartbeat she had to put the Doppler right on my naval to hear him. Good grief! She also said that he needs to come out more...he's taking up as much room as he can from my pelvic bone to my ribs. Well...how do I make him do that?? We'll see if he does what he is supposed to now & come out more. People around here do keep telling me that I don't really look 8 months pregnant. But we're almost there...

I'm going to try to get LD to take a new belly bump picture this weekend...since there have been requests to see what is happening.
