Bye-Bye Mold!

The mold is now being taken care of. The builder washed out the basement today. They also cleaned out the sediment that had accumulated in the corners. They cleaned out the sump pit too. Then they tested the moldy areas and determined that we had green mold - not the infamous black mold. They removed the drywall that was affected (they also claimed that they tested that - although I'm not sure that I know how they did that) anyway...
The timbers down on the concrete floor are treated so they don't have to replace that & they think that after running the dehumidifier for a while things will dry out and settle down down there. I also asked about the dampness on the floor down there and they told me that the condenser line wasn't in the proper hole by the furnace & so the condensation was going out onto the floor. Guess we'll have to watch that when we live there!
I'm so glad to get this resolved. It was really freaking me out.
In other news - we are attempting to pack up the condo - it closes on June 6th. We will be living for a short time with Mom & Dad Stephens in Monticello, IL. Hopefully we will get all the condo stuff done & be able to fit all the junk we own into the storage unit we are renting for that purpose. I say HOPEFULLY, because it is amazing how much junk people acquire - junk we just can't part with either!
