Venting...sorry

Club day sucks…actually, babysitting high school students sucks.  They cop attitudes, act foolish, and try to piss you off.  Really nice.  Oh, and they don’t really listen to you.  I feel like the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoons today, “Wa wa wa  Wa wa wa wa…”

I’ve got other foolish stories to tell.  Like the little girl who yesterday tried to tell me she should not get a tardy to class because she was a girl.  Girls shouldn’t get tardies.  (she was trying to use the old “female problem” thing to get out of being responsible.  I find that SOOOOOO pathetic.  I know it freaks many men out, but good night…I’m a woman too & I don’t use that as an excuse!)  I wanted to shake that girl and tell her that she is taking women back in time – when were considered the weaker sex and couldn’t do anything for ourselves.  I am NOT a wimpy woman & wimpy women make me ill.

Then the other story I’ve got is about my niece, Kate.  Kate is 2.  Kate is a bit plump…she loves her snacks.  I’m sure she’ll thin out one of these days, but in the meantime she is a pudge.  Anyway, yesterday she was at my mom’s house and she had to have a snack before her mom left. So Nana gave her some teddy grahams and sent her down stairs to eat them while watching VeggieTales.  When my sister-in-law came down to kiss Kate good-bye she found Kate sitting in my dad’s lazyboy chair with her teddy grahams poured out of the bag into my dad’s ashtray.  Now there may have been some cigarettes in the ashtray, we’re not sure, but I thought it was too funny!

Anyway, I’m off to the 1st of our wedding showers.  This one is being thrown by my colleagues (although only the female ones…even though I’m buddies with the guys more, go figure!)  The next one is being thrown by Larry’s Aunt & Uncle in Champaign.
