- I had to participate in Chapel by sharing an area that I struggle with sin (I cited jealousy & covetousness – I know it sounds kind of pious, but I really do struggle here & I wish a lot of times that I have more stuff than I do and I really do long after stuff that others have…plus I thought that many of my students could relate to that one too!) Anyway, I had to share my sin & then help make a painting to show how God can take the things that stain our lives (sin- represented by a color, in my case yellow) and transform them into something beautiful when we turn that over to Him. It was cool. I was not so cool…had to don a BAD yellow t-shirt to represent my color & I had to stand in front of 300 some kids twice holding a can of yellow paint & trying to NOT get any on my clothes. I was shaking. I’m a shaker. (Not the religious/cultural group) I just get really shaky when I’m nervous. It is not too fun.
- I found out that school will be interviewing someone for my job next semester. I’m happy & sad about that. I’m happy they are doing something so that I can be Mrs. Larry Dean Stephens Jr. IN Champaign, and not in Dyer! ( I’m sad because I really like my job and I will be sad to move on.
- I was told by a student (female, I might add) that she saw a preview for this “new show on TV” about a woman president…”Miss V, you look just like her! I think this show could be about you!” Considering the woman is Geena Davis I’m very flattered. After looking at the pics however, I’m not sure that the girl was too awake when she saw that preview.
