Whining

Whining

I’m so sick of whining (I’ve had more than my fill of hearing whining today here at school)…

“It is soooo hot in here”  (& it is like 100 degrees in my classroom)
“What?  We have a test today?  Do I have to take it?”  (As if ignorance = an excuse)
“What is the answer to this question?  What do you mean you’re not going to tell me & I have to think about it?”
“It smells funny in here”  (Gee it is like 100 degrees in the classroom…what do you think it smells like?)
“Can I fill my water bottle for the 4th time this class period?”  (Answer: NO!  I’m really not that mean, but 4 times in one 45 minute class period is just excessive!)  “Why not?”
“What do you mean I have to have this done for Tuesday?  Can’t I have more time?”  (Isn’t it Thursday today?  Wouldn’t you think that giving nearly 5 days to get it done is more than enough time?)

Ok, so now I’m whining too…guess it is contagious.

I’m hot (not like that, LD).  I wore this headband thing in my hair today & now my head really hurts.  I KNOW I smell badly…after all it has been sooo hot in here today.  I have tons of stuff to grade (I know that is my fault, don’t assign things & won’t have to grade stuff…I get that, but HW is inevitable).  School is now over for the day…but we have this back to school thing tonight for us to give 10 minute presentations to the parents of our students.  It is HOT in this room.  I just want to go home to some A/C & relax.  But noooooo…I get to spend the night here sweating some more.  YUCK!  They do NOT pay me enough for this.

Ok, that is the end of my whining.  I love my job.  I love my job.  Maybe if I say it enough times right now I can convince myself.  I do love it…most days.  Just not today.
