37 weeks...

From BabyCenter.com:
Congratulations — your baby is full term!
This means that if your baby arrives now, his lungs should be fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb, even though your due date is still three weeks away.Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds (really? Because he was estimated to weigh 5 lbs 2 oz @ 32 weeks...I'm guessing he's bigger than what BabyCenter has to say!) and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz. (isn't heartburn an indication of lots of hair? If so our kid must have hair down to his little rear end!)

In other news...I'm waiting to hear if Derek & Miriam had their baby yet...the due date was Saturday...Their baby will make Fennema great-grandchild #6 of 2008...then ours should be #7 of 2008 & then there is just one more for the year...but there is at least one more on the way for 2009! I can't keep up with how many great-grands that is for my Grandma, but what is amazing to me is that at 88 she can still keep track!

  1. Interesting. I guess it's comforting to know your baby's lungs are fully developed, but I might have been a little freaked out by this:) What if you had your baby prematurely last week and then get this email?...I'd be panicked worrying about the underdeveloped lungs:) Glad you're doing well though! You are so close! :) I'm excited to see pics!
