Long week...but with good things to look forward to!

Well, this week has seemed VERY long. It was ISAT week at school - which means longer teaching classes for me since the state of IL does not test Social Studies at the 8th grade level. So, I had hour long classes this week, instead of the usual 43 minute classes. You'd be amazed at how much longer one hour can be for students...so, as you can imagine I've had to deal with a fair share of discipline issues this week. For example - when I've been mandated to keep students in my classroom - they should not be out wandering the hall - they actually have extra time between classes this week, etc. and yet I had 3 students all just walk out of my classroom without permission to go use the restroom or get a drink. Have we no ability to wait on anything? The worst one of those was the kid who left my class 10 minutes before the end of the school day just to get a drink of water. I mean really - what is that all about? I think it was a power play - and I'm so sick of playing that game with 13 & 14 year olds. I guess it is good that I'm moving on to play new games with adults in a few months, huh?

In other news, the house project is coming along nicely. Here are the latest pics for you to see:
Looking East...
Still looking East - can you see the roughed in bath, etc? The large window will also be the future guest room!

Looking North from right in front of the house on Dropseed Dr. The tire ruts actually lead right up to the Garage.

Looking North West - the narrow rectangle will be the front porch - to the left of that will be the garage.
In other, other news - one more week until my SPRING BREAK! I'm finding that my week is going to be super full - but that is ok, I guess. Part of it will have to be spent spring cleaning the condo so that it can get on the market ASAP. I plan on making a trek north to see some friends for a day. I also have quite a few things I need to go look at house-wise to finish out our selections...like tile, cabinets, etc. But I think that will be fun...so while it will be busy, it will NOT be work!
